Industrial Sales Representative

Overview

On behalf of our client, we are conducting a search for Precision Roll Solution’s (PRS) Industrial Sales Representative who sells and promotes products and/or services requiring technical knowledge of engineering and cost effectiveness. The role calls on company management representatives to introduce and convince of the desirability, potential value and practicality of the product and service offerings. Based out of Richmond, this pro-active, hands-on individual contributor reports to the Sales Manager.

PRS is a growing multi-site full-service provider of highly engineered cylindrical rolls, plates, and related process componentry used in corrugated packaging, consumer goods (tissue & towel), and other nondiscretionary manufacturing applications. The company’s customers are located throughout North America, with an emphasis on the US Southeast and Upper Midwest. PRS has four manufacturing facilities employing approximately 200 employees located near Green Bay, WI and Richmond, VA. Come grow with us! · Use technical knowledge of product offerings to support and build sales

· Confer with customers to assess potential application of company products or services and offer solutions that meet customer requirements or needs

· Collaborate with engineers and sales team to promote the sale of products/services/technical support

· Prepare and deliver technical presentations that explain and demonstrate, to existing or potential customers, how and why products and services would best serve their needs

· Work with customers and production engineering to determine how products or services could be designed or modified to best accommodate the customer

· Recommend and/or propose changes in equipment, or use of materials, product or machinery to customers, documenting how such changes will result in cost reduction or operational improvement

· Plan and modify product configurations to meet customer needs

· Develop, prepare and present sales proposal/quotation to customer; secure or renew orders

· May provide technical training to clients and communicate customer feedback for future product development

· May diagnose problems with product or installed machinery and/or provide consultation

· Performs additional responsibilities related to the success of the organization

Key Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

· Requires a Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business administration or related area; a combination of education, credentials and work experience will be considered

· Minimum of five years successful complex and long-cycle industrial / manufacturing sales

· Skilled with Outlook, Word, Excel, and manufacturing CRM databases (e.g., Epicor)

· Highly effective interpersonal, sales and technical communications

· Demonstrated principles of account management, customer service; problem sensitivity, interpersonal/relationship management

· Analytical and critical thinking, problem solving, decision-making

· High level of job and technical knowledge, organization, follow-through; effective management of time and resources

· Effectively uses discretion and independent judgment without supervision

· Typical full-time, Monday - Friday schedule in varied work locations

· Valid driver’s license

· Regular air / car travel (approx. 25 – 30%) to support sales and customer service success

· Successfully complete pre-employment background screening
